The History Guide, located at the Lower Saxony State and University
Library, Göttingen (Germany), is an Internet-based subject gateway to
scholarly relevant information in history (main area Anglo-American
History). It is meanwhile maintained in cooperation with the
InformationsWeiser Geschichte of the Bavarian State Library.
Resources are described and evaluated with a set of metadata. New resources are continuously added to the database, already cataloged ones regularly double-checked and updated. The History Guide is part of the Virtual Library of Anglo-American Culture.

The History Guide was originally developed as the Anglo-American History Guide within a broader project funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG [German Research Foundation]), the so-called SSG-FI project (SonderSammelGebiets-FachInformationsprojekt). If you are interested in more detailed information about this project and about the background of the History Guide you can get a detailed project documentary as PDF file (only in German) or have a look at the former SSG-FI project homepage (no longer updated). |
